Biotech Engineering Jobs

Biotechnological engineering focuses on biotechnologies and biological science. It includes diverse disciplines such as biochemical engineering, biomedical engineering, bio-process engineering, biosystem engineering, and so on. In general, biotechnological engineering is an integrated approach of fundamental biological sciences and traditional engineering principles.
Bioengineers are often employed to expand, improve, and develop bio processes from the laboratory scale to the manufacturing scale. They often deal with management, economic, and legal issues. Since patents and regulation are very important issues for biotech enterprises, bioengineers are often required to have knowledge related to these issues.
The following are four among the many types of bioengineers found in the industry:
A quality control engineer: responsible for developing, applying, revising, and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
A validation engineer: responsible for the calibration and validation of equipment and systems and for assisting in the selection, specification, and negotiation of competitive pricing of equipment.
A biochemical development engineer: responsible for the design and scale-up of processes, instruments, and equipment from the laboratory through the pilot plant and manufacturing process. He/she also establishes operating equipment specifications and improves manufacturing techniques and is involved in new product scale-up, process improvement, technology transfer, and process-validation activities.
A manufacturing engineer: responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequences, and processes in manufacturing. He or she works with the engineering department to coordinate the release of new products.
