Project Manager - Biomarker Labs TeamLocation: Richmond, VAPosition: Full Time with Benefits Other key responsibilities you will perform as the Project Manager include: Understands the variety of complex sample and
standard tasks (receipt, check-in, login, labeling, launching, inventory,
transport, check-out, return, disposals, etc.) in support of the laboratory.
This includes samples being received and stored in ASSIST as well as ConneXion
laboratory information systems (LIMs)Coordinates and performs a variety of functions in
support of the laboratory including receipt of reagents, entering them into a
critical reagent inventory and assisting in the preparation of shipments to
third party vendors by sample management.Reviews, interprets and translates study protocols
so that Central Lab Specification documents can be prepared as well as schedule
any master test menu requests for applicable studies.Analyzes and
resolves project protocol and data design specifications. Authors and executes
data transfer agreements and test files to ensure accuracy in meeting project
protocol and data design specifications.Performs pre-entry review of sample manifests
from first shipments prior to their import and ensures that such meet project
protocol and data design specifications. Generates data agreements, production data
transfer documentation and other reports and ensures database accuracy
according to departmental operating procedures. Generates,
tracks and resolves clarifications and queries in regards to data entry
discrepanciesUltra-attentive,
specialized, individualized project management-specifically on sample
management and logisticsCoordinate logistics
for complex clinical studies that  involve patient health, clinical sites,
shipping vendors/ central laboratories/PPD labs and specialty testing at third
party laboratoriesOversees,
manages and follows day to day activities during the course of a clinical trial
to resolve any issues and answer queriesDevelops and
maintains pertinent SOP’s and best business practices in collaboration with
other sample management, data management and reference standards groups.Identifies and
communicates improvements, new opportunities for patient, site, client
benefits.

','!*!Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in lab sciences and medical technology, pharmaceutical science, biology, other health related field or equivalent experience that provides the skills and knowledge required to perform the jobWith 2-4 years of relevant experienceMinimum of 1 year experience in a laboratory or clinical trials environment or similar field Minimum of 1 years experience in a project management capacityOr equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilitiesKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExperience with Project Management, leading projects or programs with timelines, planning and projects controlsGood organizational skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and to manage multiple assignments with challenging/conflicting deadlinesUnderstanding of lab operations and testing processesGood computer skills- Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.  Microsoft Project experience a plusGeneral knowledge of laboratory or clinical trial processes and programsStrong attention to detail and problem solving skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to work on shared goals and deadlinesEffectively conduct oral presentationsDemonstrated experience in identification and resolution of technical problems in a professional environmentAbility to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with internal and external teamsAbility to attain, maintain and apply a working knowledge of applicable Procedural DocumentsDemonstrated positive attitude, enthusiasm toward work, and the ability to work well with othersWorking Conditions:Work is performed in a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.Occasional drives to site locations, occasional domestic travel. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.Rare exposure to skin and lung irritants, radiation, toxic materials and hazardous waste.Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Exposure to fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures on rare occasions.Physical Demands:Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day.  Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment.  Occasional mobility needed.Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.    Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand;
