Cell Signaling Technology, Inc.
Cell Signaling Technology, Inc. (CST) is a worldwide leader in the development and commercialization of antibodies, assays and research tools. As a company of scientists for scientists, we have developed PTMScan®, a technology to discover protein post-translational modifications, P hosphoSitePlus®, an online resource for investigation of post-translational modifications, and XMT® technology, a proprietary method to develop exceptional monoclonal antibodies. We are fully committed to developing new research tools to help define the mechanisms underlying cell function and disease, thereby broadly accelerating progress in biomedical research and medicine. The mission of the Antibody Technology Group is to design, discover, and generate innovative antibodies using antibody engineering and display technologies. The Antibody Technology Group serves as a center of innovation for the development of the world’s highest quality, innovative research and diagnostic antibodies. These team members are expected to continuously evaluate leading edge technologies and techniques, and to sponsor their implementation. The Research Associate will be part of a fast-paced research team at CST to support antibody technology research and tackle multiple exciting research projects to advance science and business. This individual will work close with a scientist on designing, cloning, expression, purification, and functional evaluation of recombinant antibodies.Expected outcomes include generation of:Manipulated recombinant antibody DNA constructsRecombinant antibodies using antibody display, engineering, and expression technologiesHigh quality recombinant proteins for antibody developmentNew, innovative approaches to antibody engineering, leading to continuously improving cycle time, quality, and\/or cost structureWorking closely with a Scientist to design, clone, express using mammalian cells, purify, and validate recombinant antibodiesSupporting the discovery, engineering and generation of recombinant antibodies using phage display technologyProducing and purifying recombinant proteins through E. coli or mammalian cell systemsEnsuring quality control of recombinant proteins and antibodies via SDS PAGE and HPLCSupporting the design, development, execution and implementation of scientific research and\/or development in collaboration with the broader research teamConducting research in support of investigating the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories to potential inventions and productsMeeting all established service level agreements for in-house antibody and recombinant protein expression requestsMaintaining accurate and complete laboratory documentation (both hard copy and electronic) in accordance with CST policyRequired Skills\/Experience:Bachelors degree in molecular biology, protein chemistry, biochemistry, immunology or related discipline Minimum of 1 years of industry laboratory experience in molecular biologyBasic molecular biology skills, including DNA manipulation, SDS-PAGE, Western blot analysis, cell culture requiredPreferred Skills\/Experience:Strong oral and written communication skillsProven ability to analyze and solve scientific problemsMasters degree in biology, protein chemistry, biochemistry, immunology or related discipline3 plus years of industry laboratory experience preferredStrong background in DNA manipulation technology is a plusDemonstrates potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thoughtDemonstrates broad scientific skills and display fundamental understanding of biological processesExperience on antibody gene cloning, or antibody engineering using phage or other display system is a plusExpertise in FACS operation is a plusProven ability to analyze and solve complex scientific problems
