-WASHINGTON-TACOMA-BROADWAY BUILDING The BiomedicalNetwork Engineer is responsible for design, implementation and support of theBiomedical IT environment.This positionprovides specialized repair (radiology, biomedical and biomedical networkdevices.) and maintenance services to medical treatment and diagnosticequipment. KeyResponsibilities Providesspecialized medical equipment repair on Biomedical IT equipment in inventory. Performselectrical safety testing on specialized medical equipment in inventory. Performspreventative maintenance\/calibrations\/security for specialized medicalequipment in inventory Providestechnical\/network support and assistance to Clinical Engineering technicians. Mustbe able to recommend, develop and implement Biomedical IT solutions in amoderately complex dynamic multi-site biomedical environment. Proactivelymonitor, evaluate, analyze and resolve Biomedical IT issues in a timely manner. Developand maintain documentation related to Biomedical IT architecture, processes andsupport. Developand maintain documentation related to information security architecture,processes and support. Performsproduct evaluations on proposed and current technology solutions; creates riskstatements, summaries and presentations for management in an effort toidentify, recommend and prioritize cost effective Biomedical IT solutions. Assistsusers in the specification, selection, installation, and\/or administration ofthe various Biomedical IT related devices and software that may be attached tothe network.Provides technicalconsulting to other Information Technology personnel, on an as needed basis, inthe analysis of network performance Lead\/coordinateefforts for medical device patching and updating of firmware and\/orapplications appropriate for the medical device.Research medical device manufacturer\u2019sresources for approved patches and updates applicable to medical devices in allmodalities. Knowledgeablein general cybersecurity topics and activities of protection and mitigation ofdevices to maintain clinical functionality. Completes allnecessary record keeping for network environment, work orders received andfinished. Serves as atechnical resource to various departments in providing expertise in the areaofBiomedical IT and participates onproject task teams as assigned Providesafter-hours support of the data network operations consistent with theInformation Technology\/Clinical Engineering department on-call policies andprocedures Participatesin hospital sponsored education relating to job function and attends alleducation programs deemed appropriate by Manager. Evaluatenew Biomedical Information technology. Assist with the planning and design offuture biomedical IT Equipment. Education Bachelor\u2019s Degreein electrical or network engineering CRES\/CBETpreferred A \/Network certificationpreferred Advanced knowledgeof information networking principles and best practices. Experience withHIPAA\/HITECH compliance standards. Experience Minimum of six to eight years of relatedclinical engineering experience with a minimum of two years of experience in CEnetwork security.
