Position Summary Performs various testing procedures in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation and serology to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.May specialize in microbiology or immunohematology.Performs duties as assigned with Quality Assurance and Control program, Equipment Maintenance, inventory control and stocking.Practices strong customer service delivery to all customers of laboratory services. Position Qualifications Minimum Education:Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry or equivalent science. Minimum Qualifications:3 or more years' experience as a practicing Medical Technologist preferred.Ability to greet and effectively relate to patients, physicians and staff.Ability to learn a variety of skills. Ability to learn and task on Laboratory Information Systems. Good interpersonal skills, inclusive of ability to communicate clearly. Presents in a professional manner through appearance and conduct. Must be able to multi-task within a high volume testing environment making turnaround times as appropriate. Certification/Registration:Licensed Medical Technologist by State of Florida to include Hematology, Serology, and Chemistry.Preferred Florida license to include Microbiology and Immunohematology (may be dependent on job positioning and need within the core laboratory). Working Conditions:Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases and disease bearing specimens. Regularly exposed to chemicals. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Subject to many interruptions. May be subjected to irregular hours to maintain laboratory operations.Subjected to high volume testing and timely resulting of tests.
