Overview\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rJob Summary:CLIA Waived Laboratory Supervisor responsible for supervising, coordinating, and participating in personnel activities (when applicable); performing various laboratory tests to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment. Maintaining accreditation standards for applicable federal and state regulations.Report To: Quality Assurance Manager\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rResponsibilities\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rJob Duties:Prepare and complete monthly work schedules, work areas, and assignments to laboratory personnel guidelinesAbility to work independently with minimum supervisionPerform laboratory procedures according to lab policies and standard operating proceduresMaintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipmentDevelop, prepare, and maintain procedures manuals, departmental reports, requisitions, records, and perform general clerical workAccurately register client samples, results with comments, order tests and cancel/add tests as requiredOrder and maintain adequate supplies for departments to ensure no interruption in testingExhibit proactive practices in effort to prevent accidents; maintains a safe, neat, and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staffDemonstrate team efforts, such as helping others when needed, and provides supportive feedback to teamUnderstands and executes compliance with State and Federal laws\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rQualifications\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rJob Responsibilities:Bachelor or Associate Degree in Medical Technology or related field required.Current licensure as a Laboratory Supervisor by the State of Florida.Five years’ experience in a clinical laboratory as a technologist/technician along with meeting the State requirements of the facility location up to but not limited to 45 hours of continuing education in management in addition to 15 hours of technical continuing education as required for licensure by the Board of Health in employed state.Knowledge and experience in adhering to state and federal laboratory regulations.Ability to use scientific rules and methods to solve problems, and logic/reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to issues.Phlebotomist experience preferred but not required.Candidates in recovery must have 2 years of sobriety.AAC is committed to principles of equal opportunities for all employees.
