Statement of Purpose:
Under direction, collects, tests, and stores blood; administers transfusions, and maintains records of blood donations or transfusions; performs blood bank procedures. Performs chemical/hematological/serologicial/immunological tests via instrumentation or manual means on body fluids and exudates from hospital patients to provide information for diagnosisng and combating diseases. Cultivates, isolates, and assists in identifying bacterial and other microorganisms present in body fluids, exudates, skin scrapings, or autopsy and surgical specimens and performs various bacteriological, mycological, virological, and parasitological test to provide data on cause and progress of disease.
Associates Degree in Medical Technology preferred
Certification / License:
MLT (ASCP) certification preferred
Two years laboratory experience preferred

In addition, our Maternity Center has been expanded and updated to include a new nursery that will accommodate 16 bassinets, six new postpartum rooms and the renovation of current maternity rooms, of which three include whirlpool labor tubs. Milford Regional is currently undergoing construction for a new $25-million cancer center that will open in the fall of 2007. This 54,000 square foot building will house comprehensive cancer services from the world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital.Milford Regional is affiliated with UMass Memorial Health Care as a major teaching hospital.
