Perform a variety of chemical,
microscopic, and bacteriologic procedures of a moderately and highly complex
nature, following established standards and practices to obtain data for use in
diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Provide direct care of patients of all ages.

','!*!Requirements:
Have earned an Bachelor’s Degree
in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school. Tier two employees would have a maximum of
one year to become accredited by either ASCP, CLS or equivalent regulatory
body. Failure to become accredited
within the allotted time period will lead to dismissal.
Adequate conversational English
is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from
management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with
patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines,
and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.
Working Relationships:
The Medical Technologist 2 is
responsible to the Laboratory Supervisor and/or section manager. The Medical Technologist 2 does not
supervise other employees. Is in daily
contact with physicians, nurses and other professional employees.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
Must be able to perform difficult manipulative
skills and tasks that require hand-eye coordination and arm-hand
steadiness. Must be able to walk, stand
extensively, lift 30 lbs., remain in uncomfortable positions for a long time,
visually discriminate close objects and far away objects and colors, and
distinguish and hear normal sounds. May
be exposed to blood, body tissues and fluids, other hazardous waste materials,
