About Our Career Opportunity Internal Medicine Associates \u00a0(a Division of Summit Medical Group) has an immediate opening for an experienced Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their practice.\u00a0 EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (List does not include all duties assigned) 1) Adheres to established policies and procedures, including OSHA and CLIA, and company established protocols. 2) Executes and documents quality control checks on lab equipment: Records and initials open and\/or in-use dates on all controls, reagents, calibrators, kits, etc., and strives to use the oldest dated materials first. 3) Participates in proficiency testing on a rotational basis and assures that PT samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples. Records PT results on worksheet and delivers to team leader or operations manager along with instrument printouts. 4) Prepares and uses proper controls and standards for all tests performed, records data, recognizes out-of-range results, shifts and trends. Implements and documents corrective action when indicated. 5) Troubleshoots most equipment malfunctions, performs and documents scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance. 6) Performs lab tests in a timely manner, records results properly, maintains lab copy or logs results in appropriate log book or file. Confirms and verifies results through knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments. 7) Recognizes problems (technical, instrumental, and \/ or physiological) during result review. Can identify the cause and develop solutions for resolution. 8) Correlates and interprets data based on knowledge of physiological conditions affecting test results.\u00a0. 9) Correctly calculates results of tests performed if necessary.\u00a0 10) Assists with performing comparison studies of precision, accuracy, linearity, etc. on new or existing procedures. 11) Supervises and provides leadership in\u00a0the Lab w\/4 other employees. This includes employee evaluations, scheduling, conflict resolution, etc. 12) Supports Site Manager with proactive and meaningful information and assistance, especially as it relates to lab functions. 13) Provides meaningful training to staff and monitors their understanding and implementation of training . Requirements EDUCATION : Bachelor degree in Medical Technology or Associates Degree in Medical Lab Technician preferred. EXPERIENCE : 1-3 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred. Supervisory role required\/preferred. CERTIFICATION\/LICENSE : (Tennessee) Medical Lab Technician (MLT)\u00a0required, ASCP certification preferred.
