\rClinical Laboratory Technologist-\rGeneralist/Blood Bank- Laboratory Services KMH (Catholic\rHealth): \r\rPrimary responsibility is to\rperform tests on body fluids to provide information for the diagnosis and\rtreatment of patients. Proper handling\rof specimens, which will be analyzed at a later time, is imperative. The ability to organize work to insure that\rpriority testing is efficiently performed is required. Clinical Laboratory Technologists may also\rperform duties of Charge Technologists when called upon provided they have six\r(6) years experience as a Clinical Laboratory\rTechnologist.\r\r REPORTS TO: \r\rAutomation\rSupervisor, Shift Supervisor, DI Supervisor, Transfusion Services/Blood Bank\rSupervisor, Laboratory Manager/Supervisor - General, Technical Director\r\r SUPERVISORY\rRESPONSIBILITIES:\r\rNone\r\r
\r\rSKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS\r(MINIMUM): \r\r\rEducation\r\r· \rB.S.\rdegree in Medical Technology or related discipline required \r\r· \rNYS\rLicensure required or appropriate \special provisions\ as accepted by NYSED (as\rof 9/1/2006)\r\r\rExperience\r\r· \rA one\r(1) year internship at a hospital with an approved program for Medical\rTechnology, which includes a clinical rotation in all laboratory areas\r(chemistry, hematology, blood bank, and microbiology). \r\r Knowledge, Skill and\rAbility\r\r· \rAble to\rwork safely with infectious and/or hazardous materials\r\r· \rExcellent oral and written\rcommunication skills\r\r· \rCustomer\rfocused\r\r WORKING CONDITIONS:\r\r\r Environment\r\r· \rNormal\rheat, light space, and safe working environment.\r\r· \rAbility\rto work in stressful situations is required.\r\r· \rSchedule\rflexibility is required\r\r
