**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is an emerging stage biotech company created to translate tools in genome-editing technology (CRISPR system) into transformative medicines to treat serious human diseases and conditions. Our proprietary protein-engineering technology (Nureki et al., Cell 2014, Cell 2015, Cell 2016, Mol. Cell 2017) gives us the edge in developing next generation CRISPR system for therapeutics applications.
EdiGene is seeking a highly motivated individual to develop and expand our molecular biology & gene editing platform. The individual will join our core team applying his/her molecular biology techniques to the tasks of DNA/RNA isolation, mammalian cell culture and transfections, and analysis of gene expression and gene editing. The candidate is expected to drive the success of projects with an opportunity to learn and acquire new techniques of widely applicable CRISPR technology. The candidate is expected to be detail-oriented, and able to work flexibly.
Experience with molecular biology is highly desired. The candidate should be scientifically motivated, capable of conducting experiment under scientific mentoring and supervision.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Developing and applying molecular biology techniques to gene editing.
Characterization of cells modified with gene editing to be used in drug discovery and development efforts.
Maintenance of laboratory records, procedures and experiment data.
BS or MS in Biological Sciences (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology or biotechnology) or a related field with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in academic or pharmaceutical/biotechnology labs.
Experience in molecular biology techniques and understanding in nucleic acid biology are desired.
RNA/DNA manipulation (e.g. enzyme digestion/modification, agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR, RT-PCR).
Taqman and gene expression analysis.
ELISA, SDS-PAGE and Western blotting.
Mammalian cell culture, cell transfection and sterile technique.
Lentivirus and adeno-associated virus production and cell transduction.
Working knowledge of Excel software.
Must be able to perform basic algebra accurately.
Attention to details and meticulous hands are highly desired.
