Quality Control Technician\r\rSUMMARY:\rThe Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing, analyzing and reporting all laboratory related tests and their results to upper management. The technician will be expected to summarize data, evaluate it, identify trends or out of the ordinary problems, develop and recommend next step action plans to help identify the root or assignable cause and work towards problem elimination. All information generated from this position will be sued to form the basis of various business decisions and direction regarding production, processing, methods, equipment and purchasing functions.\r\rRESPONSBILITIES:\r1. Plans and executes microbiological studies on raw and finished goods, shelf life samples, consumer complaints and special projects.\r2. Plans and executes analytical studies on raw and finished goods, shelf life samples, consumer complaints and special projects.\r3. Executes routine line checks on packaging machines to assure proper seal integrity, code date legibility, and weight/temperature compliance.\r4. Establishes and/or assures adherence to all policy, administrative, technical operation, equipment operation, calibration documentation, and analytical methods as appropriate.\r5. Performs statistical analysis on relevant data, interprets results, and makes recommendations/suggestions about data results.\r6. Establishes and is responsible for proper rotation and documentation of product shelf life/packaging/ingredient studies, interprets results, make recommendations/suggestions for next steps.\r7. Performs proper sampling techniques for evaluation of vendor or receipt samples, makes recommendations, tracks supplier performance for compliance to specifications.\r8. Assesses good housekeeping practices through observation of plant sanitarians, filler operators and processors, audits and observations, reports findings to management with recommendations for resolution, addresses issues as appropriate on the spot.\r9. Maintain and performs calibrations and equipment standardization logs per Standard Methods of Dairy Procedures and H. Meyer Dairy Company specifications. Contacts equipment representatives when needed.\r10. Makes suggestions for cost savings measures on laboratory supplies or methodologies, maintain proper inventory of supplies by tracking usage.\r11. Initiates, plans, and executes projects as opportunities arise and/or assigned by QA Manager or VP of Operations.\r\r\rREQUIREMENTS:\r• 4- year degree in biological, microbiological, food science or related fields or 2-year degree with 1-2 year laboratory experience in the field.\r• Basic competency in computer skills, spreadsheets, word-processing, e-mail.\r• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.\r• Excellent report/procedure writing skills.\r• Ability to lift 40-50 pounds, be on feet for the majority of the work day.\r• Detail oriented, time, cost, and quality conscious, thorough, and analytically minded.\r\rContact:Cincinnati@LabSupport.com; (513) 605-5495\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rEEO EmployerLab Support is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
