DuPont Water Solutions: Sr. Bioprocess Engineer/Scientist
The Water Solutions business unit of DuPont, a global innovation leader in technology-based materials, ingredients and solutions that help transform industries and everyday life, is currently looking to hire a Senior Bioprocess Engineer/Scientist to support Bio-based process technologies in Municipal & Industrial Wastewater treatment, Water purification, Biopharma separations & solutions for emerging water pollutants.
Candidates with a Ph. D. in Micro-Biology, Bio molecular or Bioprocessing Engineering, or related disciplines, and five years of experience in their field, are encouraged to apply.
The person hired for this position will work with multi-functional teams including Marketing, Business and Technical Services & Development in the application of scientific principles and technical expertise to solve challenging problems. The successful candidate should have previous experience with Biomolecular process engineering.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Act as the technical domain expert for biomolecular solutions related to wastewater treatment and water purification including emerging pollutants such as PFAS, Chlorinated solvents, Pharmaceuticals, etc.
Technical lead for identifying, evaluating and recommending bio-based solutions to complement and enhance the portfolio of DuPont Water Solutions’ offerings.
Liaison with marketing, business and external customers to identify technology gaps and develop solutions, either internally or through partnerships or acquisitions.
Apply Biomolecular process/engineering knowledge to improve technologies available within the DuPont Water Solutions portfolio such as Membrane Bioreactors.
Lead development of programs to create intellectual property to sustain performance advantages; understanding relevant IP landscape and actively developing new IP.
Maintain and build partnerships with product technology R&D scientists and managers to ensure required capabilities/solutions are developed.
Partner with engineers to scale process designs for full scale pilot and commercial production.
Writing and communicating technical reports and presentations.
Knowledge and Experience:
Ph.D. in Microbiology, Bioprocessing Engineering or related discipline is desired with 5 years work experience (industrial experience preferred).
Knowledge of membrane product technology is desired.
Experience understanding, evaluating and developing IP is highly desired.
