Qualifications Job Summary:\u00a0 Provides maintenance with minimal supervision on Radiation Therapy Systems, MRI, CT, Biomedical and Clinical Laboratory equipment and other Imaging equipment maintenance, and support services. Job Specifications: Required Education: 1. Associate of Science Degree in electronics or have successfully completed and equivalent military, vocational school, or completed International Certification Commission (AAMI) certification as a biomedical equipment technician (CBET), a radiology equipment technician (CRES), or a laboratory equipment technician (CLES). 2. Satisfactory completion of the following Manufacturer Service Schools on three of the following modalities in use at Memorial Hospital: Linear Accelerator, CT Scanner, Nuclear Cameras, MRI, Ultrasonic Scanners, and\/or Cath Lab\/Angiographic systems. Preferred Education: Associate of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering Required Licensure: Certification by the International Certification Commission as a Laboratory Equipment Specialist, Radiology Equipment Specialist, or Biomedical Equipment Technician. Required Experience: Must have 2 years experience satisfactorily servicing three of the following type systems: 1. Linear Accelerators 2. Cath Lab\/Angiographic Systems 3. Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanners 4. Picture and Communication Archiving systems 5. Computerized Tomography Scanners 6. Nuclear Cameras 7. Ultrasonic Scanners Preferred Experience: Five years experience servicing biomedical equipment, five years as a hospital employee. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Extensive knowledge and skills with hand tools; electronic soldering and connector\/wiring techniques; use and application of sophisticated electronic test equipment, physiology\/anatomy, a thorough knowledge of medical terminology, clinical applications of biomedical equipment, and National standards, a thorough knowledge of NFPA99, JCAHO, State and Federal regulations and\/or standards pertaining to hospital medical equipment. Must be able to work independently with good judgment and minimal supervision. Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Knowledge of Unix, Solaris, Windows NT, 2000, XP operating systems.
