The biotech pharmaceutical job industry offers a wide array of opportunities for ambitious and enthusiastic individuals with, careers ranging from quality control to research and development. Biotech pharmaceutical professionals, more popularly known as biochemists, usually start off their careers in quality control, bioformulation, bioprocess development, or research & development.Biopharmaceutical companies mainly focus on the development, manufacture, and quality management of peptides, biopharmaceuticals, vaccines, and antibodies. As biopharmaceuticals come to the forefront in the fight against disease, occasionally biochemists, biotechnologists or bioengineers can make a lateral career step into such fields are regulatory affairs, validation, compliance or commercial affairs, which can prove rewarding.
Biotech pharmaceutical professionals can be either of the following:
Biochemists who research or study chemical composition and processes of living organisms that affect vital processes, such as growth and aging, to determine chemical actions and effects on organisms, such as the action of foods, drugs, or other substances on body functions and tissues.
Biological technicians who assist biological and medical scientists in laboratories.
Pharmacists who compound and dispense medications following prescriptions issued by physicians, dentists, or other authorized medical practitioners.
Pharmacy aides who record drugs delivered to the pharmacy, store incoming merchandise, and inform a supervisor of stock needs.
Pharmaceutical sales representatives who sell and promote pharmaceutical products or services, such as medicines and drugs.
