Michael K. Wilhelm has many different titles, and he attaches equal importance to each of them. He has been on the board of directors for ImmuneRegen BioSciences Holdings, Inc. since July of 2003 and has served as the company's president and chief executive officer since 2002. Wilhelm is also the founding father of Foresight Capital Corporation, a company known for nurturing new ventures with above-average growth potential. Foresight develops business blueprints, decides key management issues, and even offers office space, if necessary, to all of its portfolio companies.

Wilhelm is a rare investment professional who helps biotech entrepreneurs deal with their most pressing issue-finding initial and working capital. Wilhelm not only provides a starting platform for entrepreneurs and new ventures, but he also plays an active role in establishing them.

Wilhelm charted a roadmap for ImmuneRegen Biosciences, Inc. and drove the company’s success. He raised initial capital for the company and then went on to manage its internal operations by taking over as the acting CEO. His achievements include making ImmuneRegen a public company with a strong reputation for groundbreaking research. A few of the research programs in progress at ImmuneRegen include:

  • work on microbiological infections, including anthrax bacillus

  • work on influenza, including an avian influenza vaccine adjuvant

  • work on radiation exposure to both lethal and sub-lethal/therapeutic doses
Today, Foresight, Wilhelm’s capital-investment company, caters to the requirements of a wide range of industries. However, Wilhelm’s focus remains on biotechnology, healthcare, and wireless technology.

During his years with Foresight, Wilhelm has helped develop the following companies:
  • Isolagen Technologies, Inc.-a biotech company based in Houston that develops autologous cellular system technology

  • Stirling Energy Systems (SES)-a systems-integration and project-management company that produces equipment for utility-scale renewable-energy power plants and distributes electric-generating systems

  • Third Pillar Systems-a company that offers process-management solutions to the financial-services industry

  • Soho Resource Group-a company that provides benefit and management services for self-employed individuals

  • Amps Wireless Data-a company that provides entry-point solutions for the wireless transactions of various retail and customer-service-oriented organizations such as the STAPLES Center and Bank of America

  • Circuit Source, Inc.-a producer of single and double-sided printed circuit boards

  • e|Q care-a provider of specialty payment systems for the healthcare industry
Today, Foresight’s investments range from $25,000 to $15 million. What Foresight looks for in its entrepreneurs and business partners is subject expertise in the industry, thinking ability, ability to respond quickly to changing markets and competitors, ability to attract an excellent team, and desire to create wealth for founders, employees, and shareholders.
